A nice small town diner. The staff is very friendly but the food service time is very slow. Maybe just the time of day when I came.

Hands down the best breakfast I have had in Arizona. If this place was located in my home town, I would eat there twice a week minimum. Try the eggs Benedict you will not be disappointed. Every time I come to CampVerde I will eat breakfast here.

Stopped in for a late breakfast with some friends after we decided not to eat the free nasty breakfast at the casino (cliff castle) so glad we did! I got the 1/2 waffle with eggs and added hash browns and it was delicious! The server was nice although a little busy but understandably since she was the only server on that side of the restaurant. This place is a gem in camp verde!

Great place to eat. Good friendly service. Small town home cooking. Had the breakfast on the way up. Had the lunch on the way back to phx. All good

For a little town with very few options. Not bad. Service was good ,food filling and the place is clean. A big plus for me!

This place is just ok , I struggle between 2 and 3 stars .. The food is nothing special for a little town diner .. The biscuit was from a can pretty sure , waffle was just a frozen waffle put in a toaster, you can tell nothing is homemade . Took about 30 minutes to get our food (place was NOT busy). It wasn't horrible but I'd look for a different place next time I'm in the area.

A half waffle option with eggs and a side? Sign me up. I love the idea of waffles for breakfast, but really also want to get some eggs and a meat, but a lot of places only offer that as an a la carte type of option, which adds up quickly. Here at Cafe Verde, it's not only an option, but inexpensive, win! I opted for the sausage patties on the side, but you can also get links, or bacon. The waffle was cooked perfectly and was light and fluffy. The sausage patties were tasty also - a touch bland but it didn't bother me any! The husband had the country fried steak, and his only complaint was that his was a touch bland also. It fairly obvious that the normal clientele is a bit older, so it's not super surprising that the food is a little bland overall. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, and I really wish I'd caught her name, but she seems like she's been there for awhile! Everyone seemed friendly, I just didn't get too much of a chance to interact with anyone else other than our server. We were in a bit of a hurry since we were time crunched to get to Out of Africa on a schedule, and she was more than accommodating and got us through with good food and a smile! Overall: A- Cute place (very mom and pop), great service, food a little bland on the bland side, but we'll be back if we are in the area again!

Wow, fried chicken just like my grandma used to make us with homemade mashed potatoes & fresh zucchini perfectly cooked. Too bad we didn't find this little place until the last 2 weeks of our time here. They make an awesome breakfast too and we don't have to be here by 10:00 am!!! Don't be fooled by the empty window front, we always thought they were closed. Open until 3 pm.

Famished from our flight out to Phoenix and the drive up towards Montezuma Castle, Verde Cafe looked as good a spot as any for lunch. A quaint, homey diner off the main drag in Camp Verde, Verde Cafe offers a small menu of time-tested comfort food, ranging from burgers to simple sandwiches. My green chile cheeseburger was a juicy, hand-seasoned patty topped with roasted green chile and cheddar cheese. Satisfying, if not totally memorable. All in all, a fine place to stop for lunch in the area.

Cozy, quaint breakfast-all-day cafe just off the I-17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff. Perfect alternative to the chains. Fresh food, friendly service, all-around excellent choice.

Local radio playing in the background, large spacious room with stackable banquet style chairs and fast food booths, and sparse decorations on the vast wall space. Just a few miles of the freeway this is a friendly local diner. For the most part it's pretty quiet and basic. The food is better than average. My oatmeal was surprisingly good. We also ordered the club sandwich which was very good. Good family stop.

Thought I would try it out for sunday breakfast, bad idea. My husband ordered the french toast, it looked good but on the last piece he noticed mold on the crust! I ordered a side of scrambled eggs, the eggs were very undercooked and runny. Yuck! The service was ok, took about 35 minutes for the food to come out. Only thing I did like was the sausage. I don't think we will be returning.

Small local diner. Busy on the weekends. Sometimes it takes a bit to get your food when they are busy but chat up a local, read the paper, eavesdrop on interesting and impassioned conversations about city happenings in the booth next to you....it's a small diner, don't be in such a rush! LoL Both times had the french dip sandwich and it was delicious! Next trip I was early enough for breakfast so I tried the Cinnamon french toast and hash browns...2 thumbs up!!

Awesome find. Food was on point. They made me a special eggs benny. Bacon & scrambled eggs. Hollindaize was so good. Had really good flavor and I'm real picky about that. Hash browns were cooked perfectly. Everyone in my group was very happy with their food. We'll def be back!

Serving breakfast till 3pm - yippee! Had a wonderful omelet, packed with tasty ham and fresh mushrooms. The hash browns were the BEST I ever had. Hubby enjoyed the tuna melt. Service was great, too. Wish the place wasn't 1100 miles from my home! Maybe they want to relocate to Arkansas.

The waffles were so good! Great breakfast place. Everything was wonderful. Defiantly worth the a stop. Maybe ever worth the drive from phoenix just to eat here.

(3.50 stars) Our first vacation meal after arriving in Arizona, the Verde Café offered a friendly and comfortable setting, good service and down-home food which clearly exceeded our expectations of a small town dining destination. With some touches of "safe" creativity, the Verde Café menu offered sandwiches, burgers, all-day breakfast grillwork and a few hot entrees. A haven for the locals, we were made to feel welcomed and treated to some enjoyable local color in the answers to our general questions about the area. The quality of the kitchen's work is above-the-norm. Our son's burgers appeared to have been enjoyed, and my club sandwich was prepared in the old-school manner. Both ham and turkey were generously represented, as was thick-cut and high quality bacon. Lettuce and tomato played their proper bit roles, neither overwhelming the sandwich nor denying it moisture or flavor notes. Doing the simple things well seems to be a lost art in so many contemporary eateries, but not so in small town Camp Verde.

Biscuits were from a can and potatoes were warned from frozen state. Bacon was good though. It's an ok place for food but would expect more authenticity from a local diner in a small town

The 1/ 2 waffle breakfast was good and our waitress was amazing. ( the woman with the blonde hair) I enjoyed my visit.

Solidly decent breakfast place. I ordered my eggs over easy and they actually came over easy, which, in my experience, happens less than 10% of the time. Also, the country potatoes were crispy, which is another thing that you rarely get in a place like this. Hash browns also seemed cooked perfectly. The toast was strangely soggy and the butter didn't taste like butter (margarine?) but my husband covered it with jelly and ate it anyway.

A basic cafe. Stopped on our way through when we didn't want fast food. It's a traditional cafe with the typical list of breakfast foods, sandwiches, and burgers. Also pie, but they were out of it when we were there on a Sunday. It's the kind of place that has a "no checks accepted" sign (how quaint!) and where you can get cottage cheese instead of french fries for your side dish -- that, and the clientele we saw, suggests it's popular with local retirees. No complaints though--good place for a reasonably-priced if unspectacular lunch.

Verde cafe is a cute little cafe right off the main drag in CV. We stopped here to refuel after a day drive. I ordered the 1/2lb burger, frys and water. The burger is a frozen patty of good quality, that is fire grilled and served on a great roll with all the toppings. Problem being, no flavor. I swear the freezer sucks it all out. It was also now way close to Med rare. The Daughter had the mushroom burger, sh e loved it. Frys were crinkle cut and good. The service was friendly but slow. There were mostly older folks here but no bingo going on. I read the previous reviews and I think they added some large windows. It was nice in there. Doubt I would go back. Too plain Jane for me.
